Saturday Social Skills Groups

Sydney Child Psychology Centre is now offering Saturday Social Skills Groups for children who would benefit from the opportunity to practise skills in a safe group based setting. Research has shown that for children with difficulties in social skills, regular attendance in social skills intervention helps to improve social functioning. In order to assist clients with these needs we have designed a group based social skills program. The groups will be conducted by experienced early intervention therapists currently working at the centre and will be supervised by Dr Fiona Martin (Principal Psychologist). To maximize the outcomes for our clients there will be two therapists running each group (of approximately four children). The children will be matched according to their chronological age and ability. The social skills groups will run each Saturday for one hour for the duration of the school term.
